Who can apply

hwi accepts volunteers from all countries. It does not matter which country you are in, you can apply and volunteer in any of our projects.

Volunteer and internship opportunities are open for groups, students, working professionals, families, under 18s, gapers, solo volunteers, 50 plus volunteers - the list is endless.

Family volunteering is a great way to share ideas about compassion and giving with your family. Parents instill a sense of community responsibility in their children when they volunteer with them.

Groups are welcome to volunteer with us. A group normally consists of 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or more people. Volunteering in groups brings lots of rewarding experiences to volunteers. Groups of volunteers work in teams and tours are normally very interesting when done in groups. You can volunteer with your friends, family, colleagues or peers. Just decide on a project, invite them to join you and tell us about it.

You can organize a group!

Tell your friends, family, colleagues or people you want to volunteer with about our volunteer, internship or your tailormade projects (you can also plan a volunteer trip with them). You can equally invite colleagues to join you volunteer with us by word of mouth. If you know of a group on campus, church or your work place, you can equally plan a trip with them and tell us about it. Upon deciding to volunteer in groups, please email us your details. Apply now.
This section is specifically targeted at people under the age of 18.

It is heart warming to start doing what you want to do when you are young. During vacation, teens can individually or join a group to volunteer with us. We have carefully thought out projects and locations for teens.

Under 18s can volunteer independently or form a group with their colleagues to volunteer with us. If you intend to volunteer with a group, please contact us with the details and volunteer project of interest.

Under 18s can also travel and volunteer independently . All our project locations are carefully selected and they are okay for Under 18s.

We will set-up your placement together with you and your parent or guardian. We are always available to respond to questions you and your parents might have.

Anyone from any country can travel independently to volunteer in any of our projects. We have a wide range of projects that solo volunteers can choose from. Depending on the time period you are volunteering, you are likely to meet other volunteers working on our projects in Ghana. It is a great fun to meet people from other backgrounds and cultures. Our volunteers are friendly to each other and they sometimes go places together. Apply now.
Our volunteer programs attract students every year. High School, College and University students are highly encouraged to volunteer with us.

As a student, you can earn academic credit for volunteering. If your school requires you to do an internship or a volunteer project, get in touch with us or apply online and we can set that up for you. As a high school, college or university student, there are volunteer or internship grant applications and sponsorship schemes that may be available in your school that you can apply for. Please look out for these opportunities on campus - it could be the greatest source of funding for your volunteer opportunity.

Once you decide to work on getting a grant from your school, college, university or elsewhere for a project you want to undertake, contact us with the details and you shall have our full support. We will also send you letters of support and work with you on setting up the project. Apply now.
At 50, you can still make a difference by volunteering your time and skills in any of our projects. Our projects make room for people 50 years and above.
